By mid-summer of a very busy 2017 it was becoming more and more evident that as my business evolved and grew, I would need to employ a second body. I needed someone who could help with the administration and management side of the business. My wife, Sam helped out when she could but she was busy with her own career.
However, it would appear that fate would lend a helping hand on a cold and wet October morning. Sam woke to the news that the Airline she had worked for for almost twenty years had ceased trading. I immediately asked her to become part of the business.
Some people say to me “Are you crazy wanting to work with your wife 24/7 ?” my reply to them is simple, “I would be crazy not to employ her”. What Sam brings with her to Neil Ridley Photography is a strong skill set learnt over a twenty year period. Sam has undergone extensive training including World Host in Customer Care and Service and has the ability to put the most nervous Bride at ease.
Above all else, for the past twenty-three years, Sam has been by my side. She has supported me every step of the way and patiently waits whilst I take endless photographs. She has begrudgingly acted as my model on more occasions than I care to admit.
With our Business evolving, Sam and I felt that the current brand of ‘The Photo Chap’ implied a one-man operation. We discussed at length our options and by the end of October we had decided that our brand identity needed a change and that we would start the process.
For the month of November, Sam and I were holed up in our office. We worked tirelessly day and night on changing our brand identity and on the 1st December 2017 Neil Ridley Photography was launched. Our Favourites of 2017 Highlight Slideshow was released the same day and both have been a huge success. We have received lots of really positive feedback, and we thank everyone for their kind words.
