Coincidently our good friend Kate from Kate’s Bridal Room in Clitheroe had booked to exhibit at the same wedding fair In February 2019. The venue was the stunning Towneley Hall near Burnley and the event was being organized by Little White Books, with Kate providing a Curvy Catwalk as the special feature of the event.
When Kate asked if I would photograph the catwalk, it was a very easy yes! Kate had organized a fantastic team of both wedding suppliers and models for the catwalk and meticulously every detail had been taken care of. Kerry Baker the super talented and award-winning Make-up Artist was on hand to put the glam on, with the fabulous Katrina Deegan creating beautiful and unique hairstyles for our stunning models.
Leaving Sam to manage our stand, I went in search of Kate and her team. I heard their laughter and giggles before seeing them! As always with anything organized by Kate, the atmosphere was filled with electricity and a silent buzz of excitement filled the air. The ladies looked amazing in their carefully selected dresses, and with everyone so relaxed and enjoying themselves I was able to capture the most natural behind the scenes moments.
As time drew nearer to the start of the catwalk show The Great Room at Towneley Hall quickly filled with excited Brides-to-be and their family and friends. Many of who had traveled a considerable distance for a front row seat of the Curvy Catwalk. No pressure there on Kate to deliver!
Anticipation filled the air…it was showtime! The awesome wedding singer, James launched the start of the catwalk, complete in a Greatest Showman outfit for the carefully choreographed show.
Twenty-Five dresses in twenty-five minutes were showcased, all with precise timing and lots of fun! The audience was captivated and apart from a few whispered hushed exchanges, there was a perfect silence as the crowd listened to the fabulous entertainment provided by James, and the sensational dresses on show.
As the Catwalk drew to a close the audience was treated to a spectacular finale with all models showcasing their fabulous dresses to the sound of “This is Me” from the blockbuster movie The Greatest Showman.
Once the show had come to an end, not wanting to miss an opportunity of photographing the spectacular interiors of Towneley Hall, we had our very own mini shoot.
With of course the natural images which I think captures the essence of the day perfectly…
