This course is designed for both working professionals and amateur photographers seeking to master the art of using flash in their photography. Participants should have a solid understanding of their camera settings and be comfortable shooting in manual mode.Course Overview: This one-day flash course is tailored to address the apprehension often associated with using flash in photography. While primarily aimed at wedding photographers, the principles taught are versatile and applicable to various genres, including portraits and event photography. We will also touch upon on-camera flash techniques. Format: The morning session will be classroom-based, offering insights into how flash is integrated into all aspects of photography. We'll start with the fundamentals, exploring the art of balancing ambient light with flash, and delve into the use of modifiers, gels, and triggers. After lunch, the course shifts outdoors for hands-on shooting with a model. The focus will be on off-camera flash setups, beginning with a single-flash configuration using speed lights and progressing to multiple flash images.

Single Wedding Experience Training
Join me on a full day REAL wedding and learn the flow of a wedding. See how I approach each part of the day and learn my lighting setups. While this is a learning opportunity you will be able to take your own shots. I will demonstrate everything I do on the day, including off-camera lighting setups, group shots, detail work and dancefloor. If you are relatively new to the wedding photography world this is a great introduction.
Requirements
  • Prior to enrolling, students should possess a foundational understanding of photography basics and equipment utilization.
  • Familiarity with concepts like f-stops and shutter speed and their impact on photography, as well as proficiency in handling other camera controls including ISO settings, is essential.
  • To fully engage in the practical aspects of the course, students must come prepared with the necessary equipment.
  • A reliable DSLR or Mirrorless camera is highly recommended, accompanied by a 35mm/50mm/85mm/Zoom lens and a dependable flash unit.
  • Additionally, students should have essential accessories such as memory cards.
