Rolls Royce Leisure Wedding Photographer – Helen & Rob
A Las Vegas Wedding in Barnoldswick, Lancashire
I was contacted by Helen and Rob to shoot their wedding in November and when Helen mentioned Las Vegas I thought I was in for the trip of a lifetime! Just think, travel to LV, shoot a wedding, see the sights and then fly back home after a mini working holiday! Well, unfortunately for me, Helen and Rob were tying the knot in Las Vegas on their own. They were doing their own thing and they planned on having a Wedding Celebration when they got back to good old Blighty.
I arrived with plenty of time to set up, and I met the Manager of Rolls Royce Leisure Barnoldswick who was a really nice chap. Having worked in the Licensed trade for many years I am quite used to the pressures placed on venue managers, and after getting my brief on where things were going to be happening I left him to get back to work.
Helen and Rob arrived in a huge Dodge Pick-up, a nod to the USA Wedding they had just enjoyed. It was raining and windy and we grabbed a couple of shots with the Dodge before racing back inside to warm up.
The celebration was a small intimate affair with just family and close friends invited. I left everyone to get settled and photographed the cake while they were eating. Nobody likes pictures taken while they are dining, so this is always a good time to get the detail shots and backup the images already taken.
After the meal we all watched the video of the wedding in Las Vegas. Helen looked amazing and well composed while the nerves had got to Rob who fumbled his lines giving everyone a laugh. (Dont worry Rob, most people do this).
Tears aplenty during the video. I snuck behind Helen and Rob and got a lovely shot of them enjoying the film.
After the meal the guests were joined by over a hundred friends for the Faux Reception. Helen’s sister enjoyed a dance with Rob before the official ‘First Dance’. Embarrassingly I posted the picture of them on Facebook tagging Helen in it, before she politely informed me of my schoolboy error.
The Venue Manager also doubled as the DJ for the night and we agreed on the running order for the first dance photo’s. Its great when the venue staff appreciate others working in their functions. The disco lights were going strong and the volume went up. Loads of dancing, the kids were enjoying themselves and Helen and Rob were in the company of friends and family who wished them a long and happy life together.
